AP Admits Illegal Immigrants Vote in Our Elections

The left is reluctantly admitting that illegals vote in our elections, but want to do nothing to fix it and restore election integrity.

In a telling moment of candor, buried deep within an Associated Press (AP) article rife with skepticism, a truth was reluctantly admitted: foreign nationals have indeed been caught illegally registering and even voting in U.S. elections. This revelation comes amidst a fierce debate surrounding the Republican-led Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which aims to tighten these loose ends by requiring proof of citizenship to vote. But why, one might ask, does the notion of securing our electoral process stir such controversy and opposition from the Democrats and their media cohorts?

The AP article penned by Ali Swenson attempts to downplay the issue, suggesting that the specter of immigrant voting is merely a Republican talking point. Swenson insists, “Voting by people who are not U.S. citizens is already illegal in federal elections, and there is no indication it’s happening anywhere in significant numbers,” yet paradoxically acknowledges instances of noncitizens casting ballots. This admission alone should be enough to warrant a serious conversation about election security, yet it is brushed off as inconsequential because, according to Swenson, “states have mechanisms to catch such illegal voting.” Yet, how robust are these mechanisms when the very foundation of our voter registration relies on the honor system, where a simple checkbox is the only barrier between legality and fraud?

Why Are Democrats So Resistant in Safeguarding Our Elections?

The resistance to the SAVE Act is puzzling if one subscribes to the logic that our elections are already secure. Democrats argue that additional ID requirements might disenfranchise eligible voters who lack easy access to documentation like birth certificates or Social Security cards. However, Swenson’s own narrative contradicts this point, noting that many of these voters have already navigated the ID process to obtain Social Security numbers or driver’s licenses. So, what’s the real concern here?

It’s clear: the outcry against the SAVE Act isn’t about voter disenfranchisement; it’s about maintaining a status quo that benefits certain political interests. The Democrats, along with their allies, have mastered the art of fear-mongering, branding every attempt to secure the voting process as a return to “Jim Crow” or as an act of racism, particularly targeting African American voters with claims that they will be the most affected. Yet, the data tells a different story. In states like Georgia, where voter ID laws were tightened, we saw not suppression, but record-breaking voter turnout.

What the left calls disenfranchisement is essentially a crackdown on their loose election practices. Their opposition to the SAVE Act is self-serving, aimed at preserving the lax standards that facilitate their ballot-trafficking schemes. As conservatives, we must push back against this narrative and advocate for robust election integrity measures. The sanctity of our vote is a cornerstone of our democracy, and any threat to its integrity is a threat to the very principles upon which our country was built.
