Pentagon Schools Push Woke Ideology onto Students

While we assume government-funded education would be neutral, the Pentagon's schools are pushing a radical woke ideology.

The Pentagon schools have embarked on a dangerous course, not just in education but in overt ideological indoctrination. The latest revelation from Open The Books details a concerted effort within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) schools, which educate the children of our service members overseas, to push radical social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) ideologies. These schools have embraced materials from notably left-leaning organizations that not only promote activism but also propagate theories of internalized racism among staff and encourage students to engage in questionable forms of social activism.

This isn’t just about promoting diverse viewpoints; it’s a systemic push to place racial and gender identity over patriotism and traditional educational values. The inclusion of materials from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which equates mainstream conservative groups with hate groups, in teaching and training sessions within these schools is particularly alarming.

The drive towards indoctrination doesn’t stop at student activities. Educators are compelled to participate in seminars where they are taught to see themselves through lenses of privilege and power, and discuss “internalized racism”. This is reflective of Maoist struggle sessions rather than an educational seminar, turning professional development into ideological confessionals.

This scenario sets a concerning precedent, especially when considered alongside taxpayer dollars funding these initiatives. Over $2 million was paid to the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) tutoring program, which includes discussions on power and privilege, and has expressed solidarity with movements like Black Lives Matter. The integration of such divisive and radical elements into the curriculum of military children’s education is not just inappropriate; it is a betrayal of the trust placed in these institutions by military families.

What’s being witnessed here is a concerted effort to reshape the minds of the next generation of Americans under the guise of education reform. It’s not just a departure from traditional educational values but a direct challenge to the ideals that should unite us. As these revelations continue to unfold, it should serve as a clarion call to those who value educational integrity and ideological neutrality in our schools.
