Illegal Immigrants Attempt to Board School Buses with Children in CA

These brazen acts by illegal immigrants in California not only put a strain on our resources, but they also endanger our children.

In a troubling series of events that underscores the dire consequences of our nation’s failed border policies, over 20 illegal immigrants in Southern California brazenly attempted to board school buses filled with children on two separate occasions. These unsettling incidents occurred in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District, where the proximity to the Mexican border exacerbates vulnerabilities exploited by those crossing illegally.

The first incident unfolded on a Tuesday afternoon when three men, blatantly ignoring the safety and well-being of children, obstructed a school bus route by walking in the middle of the road attempting to force the bus to stop. The quick-thinking bus driver had to navigate around the group to ensure the children’s safety. The audacity of such actions is staggering and presents a clear and present danger to our communities.

The very next day, a more alarming situation occurred. Another school bus, stopping at a designated pick-up point, was approached by a group of 20 illegal immigrants attempting to board. Thankfully, vigilant parents at the bus stop ensured that no illegal immigrant managed to get onto the bus with their children. The sheer boldness of this attempt is beyond comprehension, indicating a severe breakdown of respect for our laws and societal norms.

We Must Protect Our Children and Protect Our Children

This isn’t just about immigration; it’s a matter of national security and public safety. Jamul’s proximity, merely 25 miles from Tijuana, turns these border communities into gateways for potentially dangerous disruptions. With over 37,000 arrests made by the U.S. Border Patrol in the San Diego sector this April alone, it’s evident that this issue is rampant and worsening.

The local school district’s response, advising bus drivers to bypass stops where illegal immigrants are present and instructing parents to shepherd children to safety, is a distressing reflection of the times. While local law enforcement, including the San Diego Sheriff’s Office, has pledged to take these incidents seriously, their efforts alone are not enough to stem the tide of chaos unleashed by open border policies.

This should be a wake-up call. It’s high time federal and state governments reevaluate their priorities and commit to securing our borders. We must protect our communities, especially our children, from being unwillingly thrust into the chaos that unchecked immigration brings. Instead of pouring resources into accommodating illegal immigrants, those funds would be better spent on bolstering our border security, our veterans, education, and supporting hard-working Americans who are legal citizens of this country. Our citizens’ safety and well-being must come first, not the interests of those who sidestep our laws and endanger our children.
